New clamping press for gluing

New clamp pressing at Woodspars™ for the production of glulam parts.

For some time, we have been thinking about implementing a suitable clamping system to improve handling speed and compression efficiency of the bonded parts. The challenge being that the parts require strong pressure on the bonding areas and this over the length of the part. Positioning and tightening must be done on a stationary press with a flat laying surface.

An 18-meter press model is designed in-house and ordered from a supplier. The equipment received, we set up the structure and made the adjustments in the workshop.

The test results are conclusive. This press is a major and necessary tool in the improvement of our manufacturing processes. This new device is part of our FCBF training for the NF 14080 standard. Our classic joint clamps are now giving way to a new efficient system.
